English-speaking channels

Most of the channels translated on TV in the World are English-speaking channels. They are translated in every part of the globe. There are different kinds of channels, from “cooking programs” to “programs which children shouldn’t watch”. There are channels for every audience. Lots of users watch English-speaking satellite channels, in order to keep abreast of news of life abroad, even if they aren’t at home. Also it is very useful for people, who know English not very well, so they can improve their knowledge by watching English-speaking TV. For example for me, I like watching BBC News. That way I can know the situation in the World and can practice my English. Watching programs like this is a great pleasure. It is a high-quality TV, materials bring from all over the World and experts make this information simple and available for you. Also, a great number of channels give you a choice. So you can watch what you want and whenever you want. You can listen to your favorite music and watch movies, listen to everyday news programs, educational programs, etc.

As for me, my favorite English-speaking channel is “Discovery channel”. Most of the programs are interesting for me. I feel great pleasure while watching this. It is not only an entertainment, but it is a lot of interesting facts, acts and news, which I have never even heard. As I said, I like most of them, but my favorite program probably is “Myth Busters”. The show's hosts, special effects experts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman use elements of the scientific method to test the validity of rumors, myths, movie scenes, adages, Internet videos and news stories. It is good both for my development at all and for my English. Also it’s very funny.

"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"

Book was written by Roald Dahl and the film was made by Tim Burton (<<< I like him!). That is the rare, when the film is much better than the book, it was made by. If you've seen the film, there is no sense to read the book. Because the film has got 95% of the stuff from the book. And also filmmakers added a lot of new actions, which made the film and the protagonists better and more interesing. There isn't even a word in the book about Charlie's grandparents. The author called them just: "They". Instead of this, in the film "They" are absolutely different. Also, there is very interesting detail in the film, which in the book was written in the whole chapter. In the film we can see, that there were four wrappings of "Willy Wonka's" chocolates above Charlie's bad. As far as we can see from the film, Charlie got only one chocolate in a year. So, in conclusion, I can say that one of those wrappings has hanged in the wall for about 5 years! And without any hesitation I can say that chocolate was one of the best, if not the best, things which have happened in his life.

Also behaviour and actions of other children, which came to chocolate factory with Charlie, have changed a little in the film. And I find these changes very good. And finally, one thing that amazed me more than others. There is neither about Willy Wonka's childhood, nor about his family and his father.

There is nothing to understand his caracter, nothing to understand why he is what he is! But this aspect is very important for the whole story. Endings of the book and the film are different a little. And of course, the book lacks the great play of Johny Depp.

But, there is one justification for author, the book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" is targeted for pre school children...

Holidays have passed!

Hello my friends! I'm glad to be here again! I hope that you had a good time through this holidays! But unfortunately, there were some troubles with snow... By the way, have you ever been in Yalta on New Year and Christmas? If you have, you must know, that snow is luxury, which this little city can't allow.

Second semester have started. Everybody fully charged, everybody knows their weak places and I hope everybody will work on these places, including me...

Yeah! Today I added some new pages. Unfortunately, at the moment they mostly are clear. But, process has started, and it's very good! Ohn, no, no, it's not good... It's GREAT! Soon they'll be fool of interesting stories, news and messages. I hope that some new people will enter my blog, learn and enjoy with me!

World Student's Day

My congratulations!

Yesterday all students celebrated their professional holiday. A lot of them were in clubs, somebody with friends at home, and a few, a very few were at home and learn their home-work. As for me, I decided to celebrate it with my classmates, and it was something very exciting! I hope that nobody was boring. 

  So, I'm one more time congratulating all the students of Simferopol, especially students of university where I'm studying, and felicitate everybody!
